Beanstack Bee Mine Book Challenge:  

Let's show America how much Suffolk reads by reading together and building up our community through books! 

Suffolk Public Library's annual Bee Mine Book Challenge runs from Feburary 1 -  February 28, 2026. Reading logs are due by February 28. 

Participate in Our Bee Mine Book Challenge with Beanstack!

Sign up or log in to Beanstack to track the books you read and take part in our program. Prefer a non-digital option? Paper logs are available for pickup at all library locations or print one below.

This program is perfect for the whole family! You can log books you read to your children, the books they read to you, or even favorites you read together repeatedly—like a cherished bedtime story. Stories heard during library Storytimes, as well as audiobooks, eBooks, graphic novels, and magazines, all count toward your total.

Every book logged increases your chances to win prizes! To qualify, you need to log at least five books. Don't miss out—join the fun today!

Competition

To participate in the Bee Mine Book Challenge all you have to do is log the titles of the books you read using Beanstack and earn badges. Each badge you earn is like a raffle ticket. You can also earn entries with our Beanstack Bingo challenges! Each square earned acts like a raffle ticket. There will be grand prizes announced in March. The more you read, the more chances you have to win! You can download or install the Beanstack app from your app store onto your phone. The app has a feature that let's you scan the barcode on each book to log the title in a snap! 

Prize List

  • Adult readers ages 18+ will be entered to win a prize basket featuring romance anthologies covering multiple genres, a romance reader's journal, and other themed items
  • Teen readers ages 11-17 will be entered to win a Snackle Box program at the Library location of their choice where they can decorate their own snack container and fill it with treats
  • Juvenile readers ages 0-10 will be entered to win a craft program at the Library location of their choice, with Valentine-themed projects they get to take home

The Bee Mine Book Challenge: Final Details

The Bee Mine Book Challenge ends on February 28. Winners will be selected shortly after.  To ensure you’re notified if you win, please:

  • Include your name, age, and email address on your paper logs.
  • Verify that your Beanstack account information is up to date.
