Family Guidance Toolkit

What is it? 

At Suffolk Public Library, we strive to provide trusted resources throughout every season of your life. Our Family Guidance Toolkits are designed to help children and their caregivers navigate some of life’s biggest challenges. Curated by our professional librarians and childcare specialists, each toolkit focuses on providing books and activities as well as online and local resources that we hope will provide guidance and support through difficult situations.

How does it work?

Each kit contains:

  1. Non-fiction books written for caregivers
  2. Picture and Non-fiction books written for children
  3. Craft Box with materials for 2 – 3 different crafts or activities
  4. Craft and Activity Instructions
  5. Resource Folder with online and local resources

Where Can I find it?

  1. Library locations – We will have kits available at our Morgan Memorial and North Suffolk locations as well as our Library2Go
  2. Online – The components of each kit are listed online here. The books are all available to check out individually from our library locations and the craft instructions and resource guide are available to browse from home.
